Watching the dancers executing awesome
footwork with spins and turns, inspired
me to want to learn more. So, in 1975
I began teaching full time at Fred Astaire
school of Dance. Jumping into the training classes motivated me, while intensive practice,
lots of determination, and a love of music
encouraged me.

Training included mastering 11 different dances, Plus leading and following, men's and lady's
footwork and 20 different moves in each individual dance. Two years later I received
a Certificate of Completion which is proudly displayed on my Studio wall to this day.

BACKGROUND
I taught dance at Pima Community Collage for 18 years. I also taught for Tucson City Parks and Recreation, the Free University,
a variety of Tucson clubs, private weddings
and birthday parties as well as resorts.
From 2010 through 2020 I taught classes every weekend at the Maverick - King of Clubs.
In 1992 I opened The Bonfoey Studio of Fine Art and Dance on Swan Road near 22nd Street. I installed a 1000 square
foot floating dance floor within the 4,000 square feet of space. Myself and a staff of
eight instructors taught over 30 classes a week. My love of great country music has been an inspiration for over 50 years.

I teach footwork, timing and rhythm and
will show you how to lead and follow effortlessly.​
